ABOUT ME
I grew up in Northern Ireland in a small market town south of Belfast that, for a while, was the hub of The Troubles. It was an extreme place and challenging at times, but it also instilled in me strength, wisdom, and honesty, which I use daily in my working life. After finishing my Communications degree in Belfast, I left Northern Ireland and travelled to Australia and India.
It wasn’t long before I found myself at the base of Glastonbury Tor, wondering how and why I had gotten here. I found out soon enough. In 2005, my daughter Ruby arrived, and so began my journey with the alternative community in Somerset.
I was the press officer at Sunrise Celebration Festival for six years before becoming marketing manager. Sunrise was one of the first flagship eco-focused festivals. Its ethos gave me knowledge of sustainable business practices, and the strong community surrounding it showed me how important it is to inspire change collectively. It pushed me to ‘practice what I preached’, and in 2011, I moved with my five-year-old daughter to an off-grid community outside Glastonbury for a two-and-a-half-year crash course in all the pros and cons of off-grid living. I gained much life experience and knowledge of sustainable practices that I have put to good use in my work since.
After Sunrise, I moved on to other sustainable businesses, including Roger Saul’s Sharpham Park, Rita Hraiz’s Mudra Clothing, and the Brightsky Community. Since 2022, I have worked as a Business Support Worker for several entrepreneurial women. Here, I’ve found my true passion—helping ethical businesswomen succeed in business and life. I love seeing women flourish and, in many cases, helping other women. My role is to empower and support them in creative and practical ways.
